About

The pelvis is a region of profound surgical complexity due to its dense concentration of vital structures - including neurovascular bundles, hollow viscera, reproductive organs, and musculoskeletal components. This workshop aims to bridge the gap between anatomical knowledge and its direct surgical application, enhancing the precision and safety of pelvic procedures across specialties.

Designed as an interactive and hands-on experience, this workshop will integrate cadaveric dissection, informative lectures with clinical case discussions, 3D visualization tools to deepen participants' understanding of the male and female pelvic anatomy.

Objective

  • Translate anatomical knowledge into surgical relevance through cadaver-based teaching and interdisciplinary discourse.
  • Understand surgical planes, spaces and safe zones during pelvic surgeries.
  • Gain clarity on the anatomical relationships of the bladder, rectum, and peritoneal reflections to avoid intraoperative complications.
  • Identify the course and relations of the uterine artery, ureter, and ligaments of the uterus for surgical precision.
  • Appreciate the female pelvic morphology and their relevance in childbirth and gynecological surgery.
